1750 MAIL FROM ROSS ON WYE (?), HEREFORDSHIRE TO LEDBURY CARRIED PRIVATELY. 1750 letter from a Job Prosser, probably of Walford, Ross 'To the Reverant Mr. Hallings Living in ledbury with Care' dated Aprell ye 8 1750, some faults. On front endorsed 'the Rover', presumably the name of a coach and this letter carried privately without any charge marks or hand stamps. Presumably an illegally carried letter as at this time it was illegal to carry mail if an official postal service existed. (Ref 131816).
