1787 MAIL 'Inspector of Artillery's Office, Woolwich' TO PORTSMOUTH WITH GOOD STRIKE SOUTHWARK DOCKWRA (L354). Fine letter from the 'Inspector of Artillery's Office, Woolwich' dated 26th Nov 1787 concerning a discrepancy in the number of Swivels counted on the wharf, 'To the Respective Officers of the Ordnance, Portsmouth' 'On His Majesty's Service' and charged '8'. On reverse fair to good strike over flap Southwark Dockwra hand stamp (L354) with 'Penny' at left and within 'S/TU'. (Ref 140107).
