Fine entire letter from Broughton in Hants to Regents Park, London with 1d black pl.4 (SG2) lettered FA, touched at lower right otherwise fine margins, light bend affects, tied fine strike red Maltese Cross of Stockbridge. Also on front at upper left good to fine strike 'Broughton/Penny Post' hand stamp in black (HA251) overstruck 'STOCKBRIDGE' date stamp AU 9 1840. On reverse London date stamps 10 AU 1840 and fine black wafer seal with gothic type 'T' within. Stamp shows fine vertical guideline NE square and dot above 'GE' of postage. (Ref 129192).
