Description
'STATE PAPERS DOMESTIC CONCERNING THE POST OFFICE IN THE REIGN OF CHARLES II' BY T. H. ELLIOTT. A fine copy of this excellent 1964 paperback, 70 pages published by The Postal History Society and recording all significant letters and papers within the State Papers Domestic in the Public Record Office from 1660 to 1680. Interestingly enough it records 22 Bishop marks used during the first year of use, 1661 and 28 examples of the 'Kent Post' slogan type hand stamps used 1661 to 1663. Superb information also background information on the Post Office during this period. (Ref 127010).
