Large part wrapper from Sunderland, Durham to Whitby, North Yorks with 1840 2d blue pl.1 (SG5) lettered PI, very close/touching at left otherwise good margins, filing folds affect, tied black Maltese cross of Sunderland. On front fine strike 'HIGH-ST/SUNDERLAND' local receivers hand stamp in black (DU528). On reverse 'SUNDERLAND' date stamp NO 13 1843. Stamp shows fine constant variety 'LOWER LEFT SQUARE RE-CUT' (Spec DS5k). (Ref 139480).
