Letter Parkstone to 'Mrs Lander Rectory, Compton Bishop, Cross Somerset' dated 4 Oct 1840 with 1d grey-black (SG3) lettered LF, design cut into at two places and filing crease affects, tied red-brown Maltese Cross of Poole. Also on front POOLE date stamp OC 4 1840 in black. On reverse superb strike 'Parkstone/Penny Post' hand stamp in black (DT347). Despite faults an attractive provincial usage. (Ref 119643).
