1843 MAIL STIRLING TO EDINBURGH WITH 2D BLUE PL.3 (SG14) HORIZONTAL PAIR WITH STIRLING MALTESE CROSSES, LISTED BUT UNPRICED BY SG (SPEC E1um). Entire letter from Stirling dated 4th August 1843 to 'J Mack Esq, Dean Terrace, Edinburgh' with good used horizontal pair 2d blue pl.3 (SG14) lettered GF GG, GF just touched at lower left, GG filing fold affects but both cancelled good to fine strikes of the 'STIRLING SPECIAL' Maltese cross (Spec E1um). On reverse 'STIRLING' date stamp AU 4 1843. This being the only recorded usage of the twopenny blue with this cross. (Ref 135916).
