Fine wrapper, 272 x 102 from London to Chelmsford with superb block of four die 2 1d pl.31 PALE RED ON TRANSITIONAL PAPER (Spec C9) lettered QG QH RG RH tied fine strikes of the London '47 47' double Inland Office numeral. On reverse fine strike 'Liverpool-St' straight line receivers hand stamp in black and London and 'CHELMSFORD' date stamps MY 21 1857. Filing fold well clear of stamps. A most attractive and rare usage with blocks of four Spec C9 seldom seen. Exhibition quality. (Ref 138816).
