Bp Auckland' with fine 1d black pl.1b (SG2) lettered FE, fine four margins and tied good strike red-brown Maltese cross. Wrapper slight soiling and filing fold well clear of stamp. Postage underpaid with manuscript 'to pay 2' and on reverse 'DURHAM' date stamp SE 8 1840. Fine provincial usage with mining association. (Ref 139916).
