    1859 LARGE PART WRAPPER TORPHICHEN, LINLITHGOW TO EDINBURGH 1D (SG40) BLOCK OF FOUR 'TORPHICHEN' SCOTS LOCAL CANCELLATION. Fine large part wrapper from Torphichen to Edinburgh with fine block of four die 2 1d rose-red on white paper (SG40) lettered HG HH IG IH tied two fine to very fine strikes 'TORPHICHEN' type III Scots local hand stamp in black (Co. Linlithgow, Parent Post Office Bathgate). On reverse 'BATHGATE' date stamp MR 18 1859. Only example of this cancellation we have seen. (Ref 138395).
