Fine 2d blue registered envelope sent from the South Kensington exhibition to 'R. Aylmer, 19 Bolingbroke Rd, W.' with 1d lilac tied light strike 'REGISTERED' oval date stamp in black. On front very fine strike 'PENNY POSTAGE JUBILEE/V CROWN R/1840 1890/2.JY.90/SOUTH KENSINGTON' exhibition hand stamp in purple at lower left. On reverse fine strike 'REGISTERED/W.D.O.' oval date stamp in red 3 JY 90. Very rare usage with only 276 registered items used at the exhibition. (Ref 137798).
