1890 GUILDHALL EXHIBITION, 1849 WRAPPER USED IN LONDON ADDRESSED TO THE GUILDHALL TAKEN TO THE EXHIBITION WITH 1D LILAC (SG172) AND GUILDHALL HAND STAMP APPLIED. A fine large part wrapper, side flaps removed, originally used in 1849, addressed to 'Benjm. Scott Esq, Chamber of London, Guildhall' with manuscript 'Post Paid' and 1d imperforate (SG8) lettered RF, three margins, tied London Inland Office '2' numeral and alongside 'Hampstead NO' straight line receivers hand stamp in black. On reverse London date stamp 8 JU 1849. Wrapper taken along to the 1890 Guildhall Exhibition with 1d lilac (SG172) affixed and tied fine strike 'V. CROWN R./PENNY POSTAGE JUBILEE/1840 8 1890/16 MY 90/GUILDHALL' hand stamp. Unusual usage. (Ref 134164).
