ARCHER EXPERIMENTAL PERFORATION PL.97 (GI)(SG 16b) USED ON 1853 COVER FAIRFORD (GLOS) TO LUTTERWORTH. 1853 envelope Fairford (Glos) to Lutterworth (Leics) with 1d Archer plate 97 (SG16b) lettered GI cancelled '294' smudged numeral of Fairford. Back stamped FAIRFORD SP/6/1853 and London transit date stamp 7 SP 1853. Contemporary ink mark on stamp but a very rare provincial usage with ONLY FOUR ARCHERS RECORDED ON COVER FROM GLOS (this example, Cirencester 1851 and two from Gloucester in 1853). RPS Cert.219238.
