    1841 LETTER USED IN LONDON WITH 1D RED PLATE EIGHT (SG7) VERY EARLY USAGE 26TH FEBRUARY 1841. Fine letter from Grays Inn dated 26th February 1841 to 'Messrs Hamilton and Tew, Solrs, Covent Garden' with 1d red black plate eight (SG7), unfortunately lower right corner missing but tied very fine strike London Maltese cross and on reverse London date stamp FE 26 1841. A very early usage of this plate, earliest known date 20th February 1841. (Ref 136265).
