1840 1D BLACK PLATE 1A (SG2) IRREGULAR USED BLOCK OF EIGHT. Small piece with a very unusual irregular used block of eight 1840 1d black plate 1a (SG2) lettered EG EH EI EJ EK EL FK FL, FL just touched at lower right otherwise all with good to large margins and tied fine strikes red-brown Maltese crosses, EL with additional 'X' manuscript cancellation in black. Vertical crease affects EG, several others with minor faults but a very rare multiple from plate 1a. (Private Treaty). (Ref 136234).
