1841 MAIL AFCOTT, SHROPSHIRE TO LUDLOW WITH 1D BLACK PL.2 (SG2)(LG).  Fine letter from the hamlet of Afcott in Shropshire to 'Jn. Lloyd Esqr, Atty, Ludlow' dated 15th March 1841 with fine to very fine used 1d black pl.2 (SG2) lettered LG with fine four margins and tied fine strike black Maltese cross of Shrewsbury. On reverse 'SHREWSBURY' date stamp MR 15 1841. Stamp clearly shows 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws NW square. Filing fold well clear of stamp, very scarce provincial usage. (Ref 132868).
