    1758 FRANKING ABUSE FROM STAMFORD, LINCS TO LONDON WITH UNRECORDED 'STAM/FORD' HAND STAMP. Fine wrapper sent free mail but clearly in abuse of this system from Stamford 'To Mr Samuel Seddon, in PickaDilly, London' and in the same hand 'Free' (L762). At lower left but in a different hand 'free Morton', on reverse fine strike 'STAM/FORD' two line hand stamp in black, 24 x 11, this hand stamp unrecorded in County Catalogue. Letter dated 4th Dec 1758 and fine strike London Bishop mark '6/DE'. (Ref 137121).
