    1841 SPOONER CARICATURE NO.6 'CORRESPONDENCE ENVELOPE' POSTALLY USED CHATHAM TO SOUTHSEA. A fine 1841 postally used example of the Spooner caricature No.6 the 'Correspondence Envelope' from Chatham in Kent to a Major in Southsea, Hants, posted unpaid with manuscript surcharge '2'. On reverse 'CHATHAM' and London date stamps JA 11 1841. Caricature displays scenes of people receiving various different types of correspondence. Small contemporary ink stain at right on front but a rare and attractive usage. (Ref 137565).
