272. 1855 4d carmine on blued paper watermark small garter (SG 62). A very fine used example with small part black cancellation in upper right corner. Stamp additionally cancelled by 'PD' in red oval handstamp. Unusual. (*) (Ref 57101) £275.00

273. 1857 4d rose-carmine watermark large garter (SG 66). Very fine used example cancelled Ayr cds MR/13/58 small part duplex at right. (PT) (Ref 53817) £95.00

     

274. 1862 G.B. issues with French lozenge of dots cancels. Trio comprising 2 x SG 83/4 and SG 90, two with '549' cancels. Stamps with imperfections but an unusual group. (*) (Ref 43604) £45.00

275. THE LIVERPOOL ROLLER CANCELLATION. A used example of 1867 9d Straw (SG 110) lettered AD with fine strike of this SCARCER CANCELLATION, corner bend and short perfs. (*) (Ref 24259) £35.00

     

276. 1867 9d pale straw (SG 111). A fine used example lettered CB cancelled slightly doubled strike of a 'Valparaiso' cds. (PT) (Ref 50141) £150.00

277. THE RARE 'TRURO' EXPERIMENTAL CROWN CANCELLATION. A used example of the 1867 5/- rose plate 1 (SG 126) lettered AF, faults at lower right but very fine strike of this handstamp which we have not seen on this value before and apparently one of only two recorded. (*) (Ref 43002) £475.00


278. 1883 £5 ORANGE ON WHITE PAPER (SG 137). A good to fine used example lettered DN, very minor imperfections, cancelled Glasgow cds AP/2/94. (*) (Ref 59591) £1700.00

279. 1880 2d pale rose (SG 168). A very fine o.g. block of four - THREE STAMPS UNMOUNTED - with fine colour. Scarce block. Cat. £250.00+. (*) (Ref 57131) £795.00

       

280. 1887 1/- Jubilee (SG 211). A used block of 4, some creasing, tied to small piece by two fine strikes of the 'Longnidday/Station/N.B.Ry.' handstamps in purple of the North British Railway. (*) (Ref 46264) £90.00

281. 1887 1/- Jubilee (SG 211). A used block of 4, lower pair creased and other imperfections, cancelled four fine to very fine strikes of the 'Udny/Station/G.N.of S.Ry' handstamp of the Great North of Scotland Railway. (*) (Ref 46263) £75.00

       

282. 1881 1d lilac DIE PROOF. A superb example from die 2 in black on glazed card inscribed 'Before striking' dated 1/NOV/83. Rare and seldom offered. (*) (Ref 59592) £1250.00

284. 1881 3d telegraph plate 5 IMPRIMATUR (Spec. L210). A very fine example lettered BJ, very seldom offered. (*) (Ref 56436) £250.00

285. 1877 3/- telegraph. A small part o.g. example, one short perf, overprinted 'Specimen' type 9 (Spec. L229s). (*) (Ref 56424) £20.00

       

286. 1877 £1 telegraph brown-lilac (Spec. L236). A good to fine used example lettered CJ with part boxed 'GPO' handstamp and Parliament St' cds MR/16/81. Fine colour. Cat. £550.00. (*) (Ref 57105) £225.00

287. CIRCULAR DELIVERY COMPANY. 1865 Edinburgh & Leith Źd slate blue ERROR IMPERFORATE (CD 7variety). A good unmounted o.g. left marginal block of 6, one with gum bends and just touched at lower right. S.G. report the existence of this variety. (*) (Ref 56019) £500.00
