226. BALLINASLOE Irish-type spoon. (RA 7). Small piece with SG 40 lettered LG tied very fine strike FE/27/1858 Code B. Arundel does not record this month of use. (*) (Ref 57604) £35.00

227. 1856 die II 1d star plate 23 (SG 29). Good to fine used example lettered SI, centred to right, clearly showing TALL 'S'. (*) (Ref 51864) £30.00

233. 1856 die II 1d star plate 31 orange-brown shade (SG 33). A good to fine used example lettered AK showing GOTHIC 'K' (Spec. C8j). Shor 'A' row stamp cancelled '498' of Manchester. (*) (Ref 51866) £22.50
       

234. THE IRISH '212' NUMERAL OF ENNISCORTHY (Wexford) IN BLUE-GREEN. Small piece bearing SG 29 plate 32 lettered OH tied good to fine strike of this coloured cancellation. (*) (Ref 31592) £22.50

235. 1856 die II 1d star red-brown on white paper (SG 37). A good to fine used example from plate 34 lettered KB with London Chief Office 1844 cancellation with no number within diamond. The SG 37 a rare and very short printing. BPA cert. 35114 states 'Is genuine, creased and washed'. (*) (Ref 54302) £275.00
       

236. 1857 die II plate 40 (SG 29Var). A good used example lettered QI in a most attractive shade of red-orange (Spec. C8(7)), centred slightly high, cancelled London '72' numeral, corner bend, slight imperfections but fine shade. (*) (Ref 43160) £25.00

237. EDINBURGH '131' DOTTED CIRCLE IN BLUE. A very fine used SG 29 plate 42 lettered FH tied very fine strike. (*) (Ref 45684) £30.00

239. 'GUTHRIE' Type V Scots Local (Co. Forfar). A fine used horizontal pair (SG 40) plate 52 lettered TG/TH, slight perf imperfections and TG tear at left, cancelled superb single strike of this very scarce Scots Local in black. (*) (Ref 57689) £125.00
